Family Awareness - Kids & Dogs
As a dog trainer, I speak dog, but as a former Early Childhood Educator, I speak kid, too!
Not only am I familiar with child development, but I am also able to understand what is a realistic expectation for children, whatever their age and developmental level may be.
I am happy to meet with you and your children to talk about the kind of relationship you/they want with their dog or puppy.
We will also discuss ways to ensure the safety of your children and your dogs, as well as ways to foster their relationship with each other in appropriate ways.
We will cover:
- boundaries
- safety
- games: these are the best way for your children to bond with their dog while playing
- doggy body language: we’ll talk a lot about how dogs communicate, what their body is saying, and play some “eye spy”, “doggy detective”, and “mirroring” games to help it all *click*
- we’ll also learn about what human body language means to dogs, and find out ways to stay safe and may even help calm dogs down
- and more!
In the meantime, please take a moment to look over my article on Babies and Dogs.
